More About Amoré
Amoré is a wife, mom to a confident little 3-year-old, makeup artist and business owner. In the first 10 years of her career, she gathered as much knowledge as possible in the interior design industry by working at a variety of firms, each specialising in a different field of interior design. Her experience includes procurement and exporting, furniture manufacturing, exhibition design, high-end residential design, corporate interior design, retail design, healthcare design, university design and hospitality design. In her second job as GM of a Cape Town based furniture manufacturing company, she realised that she loved the business side of design and knew that she wanted to study business management before eventually opening her own design studio.
In 2018 she took the leap with her business partner, Cecilia van der Merwe, and started Studio Monochrome as a boutique interior design firm able to execute extremely large scale projects. To date, the studio has been growing from strength to strength with some great projects in the portfolio. Studio Monochrome prides itself in creatively solving problems and one of the projects that really required this skill, was the Biomedical Research Facility of Stellenbosch University. Together with Roelof Rabe architects, Studio Monochrome worked on the interior design component of the project. Amoré is an entrepreneur at heart and is constantly seeing opportunities for expansion and innovation. Some of her ideas are near fruition and will be announced relatively soon.
